Rev. Bernie Martin
President - Director of Relationships

Bernie's grand parents were missionaries in Indonesia and ran leper colonies for years before being imprisoned in a concentration camp during the 2nd world war, including their children of which one was his mom. With a strong mission heritage, Bernie's heart for mission was first kindled in a trip to St. Vincent in 1987 followed by a trip in 1988 to Grenada.
Bernie worked for 25 years in the Canadian healthcare industry and has a wealth of business/management and strategic organizational skills. Using his creative talents he was able to produce top ranking programs that are still in place. Keeping the status quo is not a term Bernie finds helpful. To the contrary, seeking Gods best is more appropriate to his way of thinking. Building lasting relationships and partnerships is at the heart of Missions for LIFE.
After a trip to Nicaragua with his oldest son Isaac in 2007, Bernie knew God was calling him to full time ministry and became a  missionary between Canada and Nicaragua shortly after that. This was an incredible chance to grow in faith and see what really drives the Heart of God, so after working with a mission agency for 3 years and with Gods leading, he founded Missions for Life....

"I knew  God was refining my call and wanting to do a new thing that put the needs of others at the forefront of the mission and NOT the missions needs first"

"Every day is given us freely by God and we are to walk in faith....which pleases Him"

With the care and support of his family and many great friends, Bernie is living Gods' vision for his life....
