Our Calling - Called to Serve. Sent to Love.

Missions for LIFE exists to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the world — one community, one heart, one act of service at a time.
We believe the call to follow Christ is also a call to go, to serve others with compassion, and to share the message of eternal hope found only in Him.

Founded by Rev. Bernie Martin Missions for LIFE began as a small outreach to Nicaragua and has grown into a ministry that reaches across borders to touch lives in Nicaragua, Bolivia, and beyond.

Through prayer, service, and partnership, we are seeing God’s hand move in ways that change both those who serve and those who are served.

“We go because He first loved us.”
— Rev. Bernie Martin

Our Mission

To share the love and message of Jesus Christ through intentional acts of service, compassionate outreach, and long-term partnerships that strengthen local churches and transform communities for eternity.

Our Vision

To see a world where believers live intentionally for eternity, serving others selflessly and advancing the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth.

Our Values

Faithful Obedience
We respond to God’s call with humble hearts, trusting His direction and provision in every step of the journey.

Compassion in Action
We serve not out of duty, but out of love — demonstrating the grace and mercy of Christ through tangible care.

Partnership & Unity
We believe in empowering local pastors, leaders, and churches to carry out God’s mission within their own communities.

Stewardship & Integrity
We are accountable before God and our supporters to manage every resource — time, talent, and treasure — for His glory.

Eternal Perspective
Every act of service is done with eternity in mind, knowing that lives changed by Christ today have an everlasting impact.

Rev. Bernie Martin
President - Director of Relationships

Bernie's grandparents were missionaries in Indonesia who ran leper colonies before being imprisoned in a concentration camp during World War II, along with their children, including Bernie's mother. With a strong mission background, Bernie's interest in missions began during trips to St. Vincent in 1987 and Grenada in 1988.

Bernie spent 25 years in Canadian healthcare, gaining skills in business, management, and strategy. He used his creativity to create programs that still work today. He believes in following God’s best, not just accepting things as they are. Building strong relationships is key to Missions for LIFE.

After a 2007 trip to Nicaragua with his son Isaac, Bernie felt called to full-time ministry. He became a missionary between Canada and Nicaragua. After three years with a mission group and guided by God, he started Missions for LIFE.

He says, "God has been shaping my calling to focus on the needs of others first, not the mission’s needs." He also believes, "Every day is a gift from God, and we should live by faith, which pleases Him."

With the support of his family and friends, Bernie is living God’s purpose for his life.
